Applications are open for scholarships from BayPort Credit Union’s charitable arm, the BayPort Foundation.
The foundation will award $100,000 in tuition assistance to high school students, college students, and working adults attending a trade or vocational school. Eleven different scholarship types are available to students of all ages.
Of those, two benefit Virginia Peninsula Community College students – the McGee Family Scholarship and Donald I. Steepe Memorial Scholarship.
- The McGee Family Scholarship is $2,000 one-time scholarship awarded annually to a currently enrolled Early Childhood Development program student. The Steepe Memorial Scholarship is a $2,000 one-time scholarship awarded annually to a VPCC graduate pursuing a baccalaureate degree at a four-year school.
